Mandala of the Month

“Creativity is allowing yourself
— Scott Adams
to make mistakes.
Art is knowing which ones to keep.”
“Creativity involves
— Edward de Bono
breaking out of established patterns
in order to look at things
in a different way.”
“Solitude is creativity’s best friend,
— Naomi Judd
and solitude
is refreshment for our souls.”
This month’s MotM encourages us to connect with our Creative Spirit. We can do that by invoking our curiosity with ”what if” questions. “What if we did this differently?” ”What if we changed the colors?” “What if we added different ingredients?” ”What if we changed the order?” ”What if we started here instead of there?” Anything that puts us in a position to rethink a process, opens the channel to our creativity.
So what is creativity? It’s more than arts and crafts, although they are excellent tools to help us awaken our Creative Spirit when a solution to a problem is needed or for when we just want to play.
3 Creativity Definitions:
“Creativity is the process of bringing something new into being. Creativity requires passion and commitment. It brings to our awareness what was previously hidden and points to new life. The experience is one of heightened consciousness: ecstasy.”
— Rollo May, The Courage to Create
“Creativity encompasses the ability to discover new and original ideas, connections, and solutions to problems. It’s a part of our drive as humans—fostering resilience, sparking joy, and providing opportunities for self-actualization.”
— Psychology Today
“The creative process is the act of making new connections between old ideas or recognizing relationships between concepts. Creative thinking is not about generating something new from a blank slate, but rather about taking what is already present and combining those bits and pieces in a way that has not been done previously.”
— James Clear
We are all the creators of our lives. Let’s allow our Creative Spirits to come out to play. The more we use it, the more creative we become.
Blessings and Happy Coloring,
