Exploring the Spiritual Path of the 12 Steps
Step 4: Courage
For this step we are encouraged to be courageous…mainly with ourselves because now it’s time to take a wholehearted inventory of our thoughts, emotions, and actions. We’re looking for areas where our energy is out of alignment with our Higher Truth.
It’s easy for us to be overly critical of ourselves, but that’s not the point of this step. Instead, think of it as a treasure hunt. We are on a quest (without judgment, shame, or condemnation) to unveil the wounded parts of ourselves that are in need of love and care.
Think of this month’s mandala design as a mind map for our thoughts, emotions, and actions. Each circle can symbolize an area we want to address. Actually, we could color this mandala at least twice: once to note the areas that could use some improvement and another to note the areas we consider to be our strengths.
Or…we could color it three times, one for each category: thoughts, emotions, and actions.
Regardless, feel free to color this mandala as many times as you need.
If you are part of a 12-Step program, you’re welcome to share this post and mandala with whomever you feel would benefit.
Peace & Blessings,

About the 2025 Mandalas of the Month
Each month this year I will create and post a mandala to color as it relates to one of the 12 Steps of recovery…with a more metaphysical interpretation. Regardless of whether we have any addictions or not, let’s face it…we’re all in recovery from something. More importantly, we’re all needing/wanting to heal from our fears and limiting beliefs so that we can all live to and become our full potential.
This along with the “Mandalas of the Day/Week/Year”…tie into my overall theme for 2025: “Let There Be Peace”.
